Cherry Red ger ut en box med brittisk electronica från 1975 till 1984.

I slutet av 1970- och början av 1980-talet ägde en elektronisk revolution rum i Storbritannien. Inspirerade av såväl punk som krautrock och svulstiga spacerockband som Hawkwind eller Pink Floyd, satt entusiaster hemma på kammaren eller i skolans musiksal och experimenterade fram nya, futuristiska ljud ur sina maskiner.

Med underrubriken “Excursions in Proto-Synth Pop, DIY Techno and Ambient Exploration” samlar nu engelska Cherry Red Records ett urval artister från The Human League, Blancmange, John Foxx och OMD till The Klingons, British Standard Unit och We Be Echo i 4CD-boxen Close to the Noise Floor, som släpps den 29 april.
